Attendance monitoring showing where employees are

Ever need to find out quickly whether a specific employee has arrived at work or where they are at the moment? Or do your occupational safety requirements state that you must always know how many people are working in a specific area?

Attendance monitoring answers these questions. The monitoring software shows any employee’s latest movements and working time stamps. This will give you an idea where everyone is and how many people are in each area.

What can attendance monitoring be used for?

There are three basic uses.

  1. You can check whether someone is in if anyone calls the switchboard.
  2. You know whether a person critical to some task has arrived.
  3. In dangerous situations, you can see how many people are in the area, and who they are.

1. Check whether a person has arrived at work

If may be difficult to know where everyone is when someone calls the company phone or arrive at the reception asking for someone. It can easily be guesswork, especially if you have plenty of employees that move about.

Deltabit’s attendance monitoring is the answer. It shows all employee’s latest access or working hours entries. No more guessing.

If there are plenty of employees, you can search with the person’s name. Or if several employees cannot answer, you can have a look in the list who is present.

2. See whether a key employee has arrived

If the company’s operation requires that an employee be present but their workstation is not close to you, attendance monitoring is a handy way of checking whether they have arrived. This may be the bus driver on the first shift of the morning, or person in charge of a shop in another location.

Deltabit’s attendance monitoring is easy and stress-free for you and your employees. It is enough for the employee to unlock their office door or put in their time stamp in the working hour monitoring system. The information is shown to you immediately in the attendance software and the employee does not get the feeling that they are being watched.

If customers start calling you saying that the bus has not arrived you they cannot get into the shop, you can start solving the problem with the attendance software. This way you can tick off at least one reason from the list.

3. Monitor the number of persons within an area required by safety regulations

In places that either handle or manufacture hazardous substances, the safety regulations often require that the number of people in the area is monitored in real time.

Deltabit can go beyond just monitor the number of people. Thanks to attendance monitoring, you will also know their names. In case of fire, for example, you can check whether everyone is safe.

Compared to other methods of identification, fingerprint identification improves safety in two ways:

  1. You can always rely on it, because a fingerprint cannot be borrowed or stolen.
  2. The identifier (that is, the fingerprint) cannot be left behind, so even in critical situations, identification can always be provided.

How does Deltabit’s attendance monitoring work?

We have made Deltabit’s attendance monitoring software as simple and intuitive as possible. But we have not compromised on the features.

These are the key features.

Latest events

The event list always shows an employee’s latest event. When using the Deltabit access control system, you can see when a door was unlocked last. The working hour monitoring entries indicate the type, such as in, out, on a break or at a customer meeting.

Additional information

You can also add any helpful additional information when the event details are not self-explanatory. These include longer absences or holidays. Exit events are available from working hour monitoring, but the duration of the absence is not known until the person comes back.

This is why you can add the return date to such events. This way you do not have to have a separate holiday list to see when people are coming back to work.

Commonly used additional information include arrival times or jobs outside the workplace. For example, “In a customer meeting, back at 11 am”. This information is easy to add either in the attendance software or by modifying the event in the management software.

Colour coding shows the time

For better readability, the events have been colour-coded. Events of the current day are displayed with a different colour than older ones.

You can see right away if a person has not arrived at work today and, if it is indicated in the additional information, when they are coming back.
